LI Fuk-wing

An Interweaving Web of Internal and External Images

Skilled at capturing images through line, Fuk-wing weaves intersecting networks of lines to construct the core skeletal framework of his subjects, adding focused details to emphasize their key features. He then populates this structure with short strokes and minute circles, enhancing the visual texture of the artworks. The creative process is a sanctuary of relaxation for Fuk-wing; as he was engrossed in it, he often sheds the literal forms of his original subjects, allowing his linear structures to expand freely across the surface. Consequently, the artwork’s theme shifts from the physical object to a visual projection of his inner state. In its final stage, each artwork becomes a living trajectory, tracing the transformation of Fuk-wing’s spiritual and physical state.
