Practising Calligraphy from a Combo of Phrases

2016.08.05 - 2016.07.05

Chinese calligraphy is a visual art about form, which principles are shared by painting. So there is a saying that “Calligraphy and Painting are of the same origin.” “Practising Calligraphy from a Combo of Phrases” is more than presenting the writing techniques of these eighteen artists with different abilities. They caused the dancing movements of the brushes on the paper. There are the whiteness of the paper and the blackness of the ink as much as the contrast between emptiness and fullness. They hope that our audience will be inspired to do their own association. From the explicit forms, they will understand, appreciate and imagine the plurality of calligraphy, as well as to discover the possibility between calligraphy and painting.
