PANG Mo-keung
“What we are going to draw today? Shall I write my name? How to draw? I don’t know how to draw…”
Mo Keung is very keen to ask many questions while he is drawing. Sometimes he wants to seek help, sometimes he is about approval-seeking. But mostly, he just got into the habit of asking and he would answer the questions by himself. It is the way he organizes the thoughts, while, this action elicited lots of interesting conversation.
When Mo Keung paints with gouache, the colors have a high level of transparency, which is related to his habit of washing his brush after each stroke. The high transparency of the colors creates a contrasting effect with the rough lines. This is because the rough lines become particularly prominent under the semi-transparent pigments, giving the impression of multiple layers when viewed from a distance, making the image appear vibrant and eye-catching.
Mo Keung is a highly productive artist with high output of artworks. He is open to challenges and has experimented with different sizes, styles, and mediums is his works. He particularly enjoys creating with vibrant colors. His artworks vary in terms of texture, ranging from dough to delicate, and he employs a versatile range of painting techniques.
