Driven by a passion for drawing, Chi-wing spent his formative years habitually sketching from the illustrated books around him. Over time, this practice cultivated a mastery over what became his signature "storybook illustration style." Yet, within this deceptively simple graphic framework, Chi-wing infuses his compositions with an otherworldly sense of colour. This distinctive tonal universe is not achieved in a single stroke; rather, it emerges organically through intuitive layers of repetitive painting. In this process, his hues gradually untether themselves from the literal colours of the material world, mutating into a highly personalized combination of colour sensations.
