Trembling Lines, Overflowing Colours

Watching Kam-mui paint, one notices a persistent trembling in her hand as she holds the brush. Yet, the very moment the brush meets the paper, that tremor is instantly subdued. She moves across the surface with deliberate slowness, as if navigating the subtle vibrations that still ripple beneath her control. Through this process, she traces unique lines that give rise to an economy of form, which she then pairs with a simple yet intense palette. The colours on her artworks overflow with emotion. Refusing to be contained by linear constraints, the pigments frequently spill beyond the boundaries of her outlines. While this relationship between colour and subject remains loosely detached, it is precisely this fluid interplay that imbues her subjects with a profound and striking resonance.
