i, the Artist | Artist Introduction : LI Wai Lap
6 March 2026
Wai-lap is versatile, enjoying both quiet activities like puzzles and card games, as well as running. Because staff noticed his strong visual reception skills and sensitivity to images and colors, he was introduced to an art class. Initially, he spent over three years learning simple patterns and lines before gradually focusing on creating figurative works.
He visited Andy Warhol's personal exhibition, and the strong contrasts and vivid lines deeply inspired him. Following that, he created a portrait, particularly favoring blue. In his creations, he often unconsciously chooses this color. He has his own unique perspective on color combinations, preferring to use deep brown or black to highlight the vibrancy of blue.
