Admissions now open! The 4th Art Course-Introductory Arts Course
-4/5/2026
i-dArt has always offered a variety of art courses for Persons with Disabilities, the highlight of which is the "Four-Year Art Course". In 2013, our Rehabilitation Complex co-operated with the Department of Visual Studies of Lingnan University to launch the pilot programme being the first comprehensive and systematic art course for people with different abilities in Hong Kong. The course design consisted of both theory teaching and studio practice, reference was made to general art courses offers to adults. In addition, individual planning and design were also provided for each student according to his/her own abilities and characteristics. Instructors and the teaching team followed the progress of the students, adjusted the pace as well as the teaching methods to meet the specific needs of the students. The art course is in fact tailored and people-based.
This year we will prepare to hold the "4th Art Course". In order to discover more students with artistic talents, we will first launch the "Introductory Arts Course" from June to August this year, allowing students to have an initial experience in learning art and prepare themselves for admission to the "four-year art course".

If you are interested in enrolling in the "4th Art Course", you can fill in the "Registration Form" (click to download) and submit it by email to i-dart@tungwah.org.hk on or before May 4, 2026 (Monday).

Course Introduction: |
The Introductory Arts Course will allow students who are interested in art (no art experience is required) to try out the experience of using different art media as an introductory study in art practice classes, thereby strengthening the sensory connection of the body, touch, and vision. During the learning process, elements of culture, history and life observation will also be added to enhance the learning experience in an interactive way:
Multiple art media experience: Students will try to use different art media (such as painting, collage, printing, copying, etc.) to explore the possibility of creation and inspire their initial understanding and interest in art.
Sensory connection strengthens the sense of art: Through the interaction of body, touch and vision, students develop their sensitivity to artistic expression and enhance the connection between senses and creation.
Integration of culture and history: The course will incorporate cultural and historical backgrounds, allowing students to integrate social context into their creations and deepen their understanding and application of art.
Life observation and interactive learning: Encourage students to draw inspiration from daily life, and through interactive forms, strengthen the learning experience and cultivate observation and expression skills. |
