Down The Rabbit Hole
2025.02.12-2025.06.15
Sau-lan's creations focus on marker pens, using color and lines to shape a unique painting style. She boldly departs from the constraints of reality, delivering a strong visual impact. Despite the daring and unusual nature of her work, Sau-lan's personality is quiet and reserved.
After six years immersed in the world of painting, she interprets her visual language uniquely, whether through still life, portraits, or animals, skillfully navigating between abstraction and representation. Her large eyes and long eyelashes are the most symbolic features of the faces in her artworks. The distorted figures of people and animals reveal quirky appearances and subtle expressions, radiating a strange atmosphere. Sometimes, after finishing a piece, she adds repetitive text, which seems to embellish the artwork while also hinting at deeper meanings.
Sau-lan paints quietly and continuously, like a reserved and gentle little rabbit. This exhibition draws inspiration from the metaphor of the "rabbit hole," showcasing her surreal visual creations, inviting viewers to explore a world full of illusions and curiosities, just like stepping into a rabbit hole!
